Privacy policy for the PA4AGE platform
Privacy Policy
PIKEI, a member of PA4Age consortium, built the PA4Age platform tools, namely Training Platform and PA4Age mobile app as Free tools. This SERVICE is provided by PA4Age consortium and PIKEI at no cost and is intended for use as is.
This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.
If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which are accessible at Training Platform and PA4Age mobile app unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller for the PA4Age mobile app and the Training Platform is PIKEI, acting on behalf of the PA4Age consortium.
For anything concerning your personal data — including deletion of your data — you can contact us at privacy@pikei.io. This is the fastest way to reach the people who can act on your request.
Information Collection and Use
We collect only what we need to run the Service. Specifically:
- Data you give us. If you create an account on the Training Platform, we collect your name and e-mail address, and we record your course enrolments and your progress. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your name and e-mail address. If you write to us through a form on this website, we collect what you put in that form.
- Data the mobile app stores on your device. The PA4Age mobile app keeps your settings, your training progress and any content you enter in local storage on your own device. This data stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.
- Approximate location. The app may use your location to show content relevant to where you are. You can refuse this permission, or withdraw it later in your device settings, and the app will keep working without it.
- Device identifiers and technical data. A device identifier, device model, operating system version and app version may be collected by the third-party services we use, in order to deliver the Service and to diagnose crashes.
- Log Data. See the “Log Data” section below.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling. We use it only to provide the Service, to keep it working correctly, and to improve it.
Our legal basis for processing your data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is your consent (for the newsletter and for optional device permissions such as location), and the performance of our agreement with you (for your account and course progress). Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
PA4Age platform tools use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you.
Link to the privacy policy of third-party service providers used by the app: Google Play Services.
Log Data
We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in a case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.
Cookies
Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.
This Service does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the app may use third-party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.
Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
- To facilitate our Service;
- To provide the Service on our behalf;
- To perform Service-related services; or
- To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
We want to inform users of this Service that these third parties have access to their Personal Information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.
Security
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS), access to it is limited to the people in the consortium who need it to run the Service, and it is held on servers located in the European Union. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
International Data Transfers
Your data is stored within the European Union. Some of the third-party service providers described above (for example Google Play Services) may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the safeguards those providers put in place, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your Personal Information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy:
- Data stored on your device (application settings, your training progress and any content you have entered in the PA4Age mobile app) is kept on your device for as long as the app is installed.
- Training Platform account data (name, e-mail address, course enrolments and course progress) is kept for as long as your account remains active, and is deleted within 30 days of a deletion request or when your account is closed.
- Newsletter subscription data (name and e-mail address) is kept until you unsubscribe.
- Log Data and crash reports (see the “Log Data” section above) are retained for a maximum of 12 months and are then deleted automatically.
Deleting data by uninstalling the app
You can delete all data that the PA4Age mobile app stores on your device at any time, without contacting us, by uninstalling the app. Uninstalling the app permanently removes the local application database, your locally stored training progress, your app settings and any cached content. Uninstalling does not delete a Training Platform account, if you have created one, nor a newsletter subscription — for those, please use the request procedure below.
How to request deletion of your data
You can ask us at any time to delete the Personal Information we hold about you. There are two ways to submit a data deletion request:
- fill in the data deletion request form further down this page; or
- send an e-mail to privacy@pikei.io with the subject line “Data deletion request”.
Whichever way you choose, please tell us:
- the e-mail address you used with the Service (this is what we use to locate your data);
- which Service the request concerns — the PA4Age mobile app, the Training Platform, the newsletter, or all of them;
- whether you want your data deleted entirely, or only specific data (for example only your course progress).
We may contact you to confirm that the request comes from the owner of the account, so that we do not delete someone else's data by mistake. We will acknowledge your request without undue delay and notify you of the outcome by e-mail within 30 days of receiving it, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If the request is complex and we need more time, we will tell you and explain why. Submitting a request is free of charge.
Once a deletion request is completed, your account and the associated Personal Information are erased from our production systems. Copies held in encrypted backups are removed within a further 30 days, as the backups are rotated. We may retain a limited amount of information where we are legally required to do so, or in anonymised and aggregated form (statistics that can no longer identify you) for project reporting purposes.
Deleting your data means you will lose access to your Training Platform account and to any course progress and certificates linked to it. This action cannot be undone.
Your other rights
Besides deletion, you have the right to request access to the Personal Information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to ask us to restrict how we use it, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. You can exercise these rights with the same form or e-mail address as above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
Data deletion request form
Use this form to ask us to delete the personal data we hold about you, or to exercise your other rights. We will send a confirmation to the e-mail address you enter below, and we will inform you of the outcome by e-mail within 30 days.
The details you submit here are used only to identify you and to handle your request. They are sent to our data protection contact by e-mail and are not stored in a database on this website.
Links to Other Sites
This Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
Children’s Privacy
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@pikei.io so that we will be able to do the necessary actions.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page, and the “last updated” date below will tell you when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will give you notice in the app or by e-mail before it takes effect.
This policy is effective as of 2023-06-01. Last updated: 2026-07-30.
