
Multiplier event in Patras entitled: Promoting healthy aging in the digital age
The company PIKEI, based in Patras, organized on Friday, November 1st, a conference on the topic of “Promoting Healthy Ageing in the Digital Age” at its premises as part of the Erasmus+ PA4Age (Promotion Of Physical Activity For The Third Age) project.
The conference initially presented the PA4Age project, its objectives and its results, including the digital educational platform and the mobile phone application created by PIKEI for the purpose of the project. In the second section of the conference, speeches were given by specialized professionals, specifically Ms. Panagiotiopoulou Niki-Stavroula, psychiatrist, and Ms. Kotsifa Niki, physical education teacher, Msc physical educator and physiotherapist, where the benefits of physical activity and an active lifestyle were presented, as well as the role of new technologies in promoting physical activity.
The event concluded with an interactive session, in which participants had the opportunity to ask questions of the speakers, engage in broader discussions, and make use of the educational platform and application.
The event was attended with great interest by approximately 50 people from various groups of citizens, such as special education teachers and researchers, health professionals, technology professionals, elderly caregivers, and end-users of the 3rd age.
After the event, the interest and enthusiasm of the participants was evident, as dialogues and one-on-one discussions followed, in which they exchanged ideas and suggestions for the further development and implementation of the project’s methods and tools. In addition, the intention of the interested parties to support the evaluation and dissemination of the educational platform, offering valuable feedback for its continuous improvement, was expressed.
